just a few of the views - brad wollman / fotomente

After living in Yelapa for a small lifetime, I was fortunate to adventure into the nearby county of the Cabo Corrientes via motorcycle. I visited nearly all 60 towns and many of the small dirt trails. Years later, I brought a car from the states and traveled with my Yelapan family visiting relatives and amazing locations. When friends would visit, we would often head to the ranchos and share the beauty of the county.  Years later,  I began to offer tours to the public and finally decided to mainly offer tours to my  yoga friends and private groups.

The Backroad Ranch Tour offers a living museum kind of day ...a look back in time. We spend the day visiting local and often seldom seen locations. The tour is full of heart,  laughter and 100 % real. When visiting friends in the ranches , we get to see a rare sight into their daily lives. We sample the local food and many treats. It truly is a day you will remember for many years.

You will leave via water taxi at 7:45 am ( 20 min ride) to Boca de Tomatlan, where I will meet the group. The cost of the water taxi is 90 pesos each way. From there we will stop and have a morning snack and coffee/tea. Next we spend an hour at the famous Botanical Gardens. We then stop at local treasures along the path to El Tuito (the capital city of the county) An incredible lunch at The Patio de Mario that showcases food countywide , made with love. Next we head on the camino to the ranches and nature. Very few people get the opportunity to visit these locations. Bring your bathing suit as we might get wet in the warm thermal pool and /or small waterfall at Agua Calientes. The final stop is with the Familia Castillion in El Algodon. A working ranch for 4 generations. This wonderful family and our friend Betty proudly show you their rancho lifestyle. The last adventure is the 50 min ride back to Boca and your water taxi. We try to have you back to Yelapa by 6 pm. Each tour is customized and
different. Who knows what magic we can create?

What to bring: Bug spray, camera or cell phone, bathing suit, credit card for the botanical gift shop.

If you can offer any donations to the locals , it really is heartwarming. Anything is appropriate. Tools, clothes, kitchen gadgets ect.
